A Note From Jeff
For my entire life, I've played by the rules and followed a path that certainly seems successful enough from the outside. And no accomplishment will ever matter more than my family. My beautiful and amazing wife Lisa and two "kids" Andrew, 20 and Avery, 16 – who I can hardly refer to as kids anymore – mean the world to me.
But as time moves on, I've been asking myself many questions around career, friendships, health, and freedom among other topics. Questions like:
- ◆Do I really want my next 20+ years to look just like the last?
- ◆Am I really happy with my job and how I spend most of my time?
- ◆Do I have the courage to consider doing something completely different?
- ◆Am I in a good place with my physical and mental health?
- ◆What if I don't "follow the rules" of typical retirement timelines and take a shot at something wildly different before reaching safe traditional savings goals?
- ◆How can I meet and build relationships with others asking these same questions of themselves and engage in real open and honest conversations?
There are many more questions like this and ultimately this is why Meridian Sea Society was born. Honestly, I don't know if this little venture will ultimately be successful. Time will tell if I am truly on to something. But one thing is for sure…I will not regret taking this chance to build something real for myself, my family, but most importantly – all of you.
